Coat: A lighter shade of black. Beak is pure black, inside of ears are dark grey. Mane is a medium grey.

Eyes: Medium Blue.

Horn: Zephyr doesn’t have a horn. He channels magic through his ears.

Cutiemark: N/A

Appearance: Zephyr is about the size of a cougar or a panther. He has a pair of cat-like ears and a leonine tail. He has an osprey beak and a leonine mane, but it does not go on to his head, giving him the appearance of wearing a grey fur sweater.

Biography: Zephyr was found as an egg by a pony family that went out on a picnic in the woods near their father’s farm. Zephyr hatched, and his step-family, not knowing what it was, presumed he was a griffon and treated him as such. His mother, who lived in the city of Manehattan on a normal day with her 2 daughters, knew of the xenophobia most ponies had for griffons, so she created one of the most successful jewelry stores in Manehattan to provide enough money that Zephyr could live in peace and not have to worry about getting a job. His father, who owned a very wealthy and successful ranch, also helped to support Zephyr. Zephyr recieved all the information that he knows about the opinician race by studying in Canterlot for 1 year. He moved to Ponyville shortly after his step-mother’s sister passed away and left her house to Zephyr’s step-mother. Zephyr found the conditions of living in Ponyville very amicable and settled in immediately.

Abilities: Zephyr has 14 wing power, making him just slightly weaker than Rainbow Dash. Opinicus are unable to master the more arcane magics, such as teleportation or transmutation, but they are very adept at elemental and natural magics, including wind, earth, and fire. Some also possess various other abilities, such as being able to communicate with animals, or to be able to blend in and travel via the shadows.

Diet: Zephyr primarily subsists on fish and meat, and the occasional seeds and nuts. He likes mint. Opinicus have intolerances to various pony food, such as hay and flowers.

World-view: Zephyr is not particularly liked by many ponies or griffons. Griffons see him as a waste of good griffon materials, IE; a pony in a griffon’s body, and ponies see him as a particularly frightening griffon due to his dark coloration. Zephyr is kind to everyone who hasn’t done anything to him, but he will not take kindly to being used for personal gain.

Greatest desire: Being accepted in pony society and being able to shop at the stores in Ponyville without fear of being kicked out.

Greatest fear: Being evicted from his home, losing all of his friends, having a friend turn on him. 

Greatest regret:  Zephyr has no regrets.

A few secrets: Zephyr is secretly very depressed. He doesn’t feel as though he’ll find a mate and he’ll never raise a family. He’s also a good actor.
